The Story behind
Based on the design of the Aloha scarf
Laurence Bourthoumieux pays tribute to the gentle beauty of Oahu, Hawaii's most habited island and home to the capital Honolulu. Here "aloha" is a magical word that can mean hello, welcome, see you soon, or love. The lei, a garland of deliciously perfumed plumeria flowers, is offered along with this welcome where different nationalities live harmoniously. The vast Oahu valley, dominated by two volcanoes, harbors a whole world of plant life. Hibiscus, guava, traveler's trees, coconut palms and passion flowers surround a hula dancer along with birds of paradise, cardinals and macaws. Reality can come so close to a dream!
