Vintage late 1960s/early 1970s early Radley label floral cotton mini dress.

The dress is super feminine and romantic in a soft purple lilac colour with a ditsy yellow and orange floral pattern. The style is absolutely inspired by Ossie Clark (who also designed for the label at this time), with the covered buttons down the bust, puffed sleeves, and tie at empire waist.

Radley was a British clothing manufacturing company of the 1960s through the 1980s and owned by Alfred Radley. The company is best known for its association with the Quorum Boutique, of which it acquired controlling interest in 1969.

The designers at Quorum, Ossie Clark, and Alice Pollock, also did garments under the Radley label and many Radley garments borrowed design elements from the popular Quorum designers. The garment would be sketched by Clark, then Radley’s in-house designer would use the ideas to produce a variety of designs for Radley. (via VFG)

This is a wounded bird, as there is faint staining under the armpits, otherwise in excellent and wearable vintage condition. All the seams are strong and there is no other damage. A very reluctant sale but it no longer fits me across the bust.
