This black gabardine pants suit from CHANEL is from Chanel's 2000 Transition Collection (00T). The jacket has offset black buttons, an an offset hemline, long sleeves, small shoulder pads, a hem chain, and one besom chest pocket that is either decorative or still retains the tailor's tacks. Each of the buttons bears a letter, and it took me a while to figure out what they mean. The letters are A G B R I E L L E. I finally realized that this is Chanel's actual first name (Gabrielle), but that the first two letters are sewn in reverse order. I was tempted to put them in the correct order, but since this made it past QA, it might be a puzzle for us to figure out (and I have given awasy the answer!). The two buttons on the sleeve cuffs bear the CC Chanel logo. The pants have waist darts with no waistband, a side zipper, and a circular Chanel logo attached near the zipper. The shell fabric is a fine gauge wool gabardine suitable for year-round wear. The jacket is lined in black silk, and the pants are unlined. Labeled French size 44, which is considered equivalent to a US size 12. However, measurements indicate that the suit is closest to a modern size 8-10. Please refer to the measurements for the best guidance regarding actual size.*

- Shoulder width is 15" between seams plus about another inch to edges of shoulder pads. 
- Chest is 37"

- Length is 22" down center back.

PANTS MEASUREMENTS
- Waist is 28" 
- Hips are 40" at about 8" below waist.  
- Front rise is 12.75"
- Inseam is 28.5"
- Outside leg seam is 40"
