VALENTINO NIGHT Jacket & Full-Length Chiffon Pleated Pants.
Perfect for a Spring or Summer fashion forward event, this jacket and pants set (yes, pants!) is from Valentino Night, a Valentino Garavani label that was active in the late 1980s and 1990s. The jacket has wide notched lapels, a tie belt and a single button closure at the waist, and genuine French cuffs with cufflinks included. It also has two vertical besom pockets and shoulder pads. The full-length pleated pants, or split skirt, have a regular waistband and close with a hidden zipper. The pleats are closed down to the hips then open, so they can enjoy your movement. The fabrics are not labeled, but I would venture to say that the jacket is a silk blend, the cuffs and belt look like silk but feel like polyester (good for keeping them clean), and the lining is probably a synthetic blend with a faint gold sparkle. The chiffon pants look and feel like silk. Both pieces are labeled size 6, but the 26-inch pant waist puts them in the size 2-4 range, although the jacket measures as a modern size 6. You could wear the set 'as is' with what might be a slightly oversized jacket, or a good tailor/seamstress could enlarge the pant waist to 28" (size 6) by releasing one pleat on each side of the zipper and splicing the waistband. Please rely on the measurements for the best guidance regarding actual size and compare with similar garments that fit you.
