Issey Miyake SS11 (Dai Fujiwara) Pleated Maxi Skirt

This beautiful black long skirt is from the fashion house of Japanese fashion icon Issey Miyake. The skirt was part of the Spring/Summer collection released in 2011, when Dai Fujiwara was the brand's creative director. The skirt is very elegant and exudes timeless class. The black skirt flares slightly on one side, breaking with the classic straight model. In addition, a diagonal pleated stripe has been added as a design detail.

Issey Miyake is known for its pleated designs that are both sculptural and very comfortable. Today, these pleated garments have become known as the former nickname and later sub-label of Issey Miyake: 'Pleats Please'. 

With his APOC theory, Issey Miyake started a trend in the design world that is still palpable today. A Piece Of Clothing is the idea and resulting design strategy to make a garment with a single piece of fabric without cut edges. So you use the entire fabric, which is incredibly sustainable. Deze mooie zwarte lange rok is afkomstig uit het modehuis van Japans mode-icoon Issey Miyake. De rok was onderdeel van de Spring Summer collectie uitgegeven in 2011, toen was Dai Fujiwara creative director van het merk. De rok is zeer elegant en straalt tijdloze klasse uit. De zwarte rok loopt aan 1 kant ietwat uit en breekt daarmee met het klassieke rechte model. Daarnaast is er als ontwerpdetail een schuine geplisseerde streep aangebracht.
